Content guidelines

What can and cannot run alongside ads on WGPlayground. We hold ourselves and our network to the same standards advertisers expect.

The following categories of content are prohibited on games and pages that carry WGPlayer ads. Publishers are responsible for ensuring their games and surrounding content comply with these guidelines.

1. Indecent, obscene, adult, or pornographic material

Content is not allowed where it includes:

  • Graphic sexual content intended to arouse
  • Content promoting illegal sexual themes, simulated or real
  • Material suggesting sexual acts for compensation
  • Sexual exploitation of minors
  • Family-appropriate content masking adult themes

2. Hate speech, defamatory material

Prohibited content includes material that:

  • Incites hatred or discrimination based on protected characteristics
  • Harasses or bullies individuals or groups
  • Threatens or advocates harm
  • Seeks to exploit others

3. Shocking content, sensitive events, animal cruelty

Banned materials feature:

  • Violent language or graphic imagery
  • Bodily fluids or waste depictions
  • Profanity or obscene language
  • Shock or scare tactics
  • Exploitation of sensitive events
  • Victim-blaming narratives
  • Animal cruelty or endangered species trafficking

4. Dating, mail-order brides

Restricted advertising covers:

  • Dating sites promoting infidelity or escort services
  • Mail-order bride services
  • Ethnically-targeted dating platforms
  • Foreign marriage promotion

5. Software viruses, malware, counterfeit products

Prohibited content involves:

  • Malware distribution
  • Counterfeit or replica products misrepresented as genuine
  • Fake items mimicking brand features

6. Hacked political materials

Content cannot facilitate access to hacked material related to political entities, or to unauthorised computer intrusions.

7. Fraudulent or misleading material

Banned products and services enable:

  • User deception of others
  • Unauthorised system access
  • Unauthorised tracking or monitoring

8. Tobacco products, recreational drugs

Restricted advertising covers:

  • Tobacco products and components
  • Tobacco simulation devices
  • Recreational substances inducing altered states
  • Drug-use facilitation or instructions

9. Firearms, explosives, ammunition, weapons

Prohibited content features:

  • Projectile-discharge devices
  • Gun parts or assembly instructions
  • Explosives and instructions
  • Combat-designed knives and weapons
  • Enhancement or acquisition instructions

10. Prescription drugs, experimental medical treatment

Banned content includes:

  • Unlicensed prescription drug sales
  • Unlicensed location targeting
  • Speculative or experimental medical treatments
  • Unapproved cell or gene therapies

11. Other illegal content

Any material that is itself illegal, or which improperly references illegal activities.
